Brisbane’s favourite local textile artists Sharyn Hall and Wendy Bailye return with their much-loved annual collaboration — their 18th Wild Things Exhibition, showcasing an inspiring blend of contemporary textile art, fine design, and exquisite handmade pieces. Immerse yourself in the colour, texture and richness of this distinctive exhibition. Sharyn, a Churchill Fellow, creates sophisticated fabric surface designs, and beautifully hand-crafted silver jewellery. Her surface embellished additions to pieces in her ethnically sourced textile collection and her yearlong drawing-a-day challenge, producing a series of 48 pop-up/out books containing 365 cards, referencing her love of flowers and foliage, will be on display. Wendy, Samford’s very own feltmaker and textile artist, will showcase stunning archival prints of her felt panels and textile work featuring local Samford birdlife — photographed and printed in Samford as well as new felted work and some gorgeous new quirky ceramics.
