Pip Williams: The German Ward

A forbidden love. A pioneering artist. A wartime secret. In the breathtaking new novel from globally bestselling author Pip Williams, a doomed WWI romance between a German prisoner of war and an English nurse is captured in the drawings of an Australian artist. A century later, a researcher discovers the tantalising fragments of this lost narrative and sets out to piece them together. The author of The Dictionary of Lost Words and The Bookbinder of Jericho returns with this richly rendered tale of desire, knowledge and hope.
