Bistro Tino is the latest venture from the team behind Mosconi, bringing a taste of European neighbourhood hospitality to a restored World War II-era hangar in Newstead. Conceived by Mark Rotolone as an all-day eatery inspired by Italy’s local corner bars, the venue serves ingredient-led fare from breakfast through lunch, with a menu spanning pan con tomate with yellowfin tuna, Italian sausage with silverbeet and butter beans, bifana rolls, pastina minestrone and market fish, alongside pastries, $2 standing espressos poured with a bespoke Single O blend, classic cocktails and a considered wine list. Designed in collaboration with architect George Kouparitsas and Meredith Burke of By Burke Design, the warm, artisan-crafted space pairs Tasmanian oak, ochre leather banquettes and handcrafted Pitt and Giblin speakers with a philosophy centred on simplicity, quality and timeless hospitality.
